Douglas Clark and Carol Bundy

Clark was a necrophiliac, and killed with his girlfriend Bundy to satisfy his urges.

Gina Marano and Cynthia Chandler 12 June 1980
The two teenage step-sisters were found shot dead near a freeway.
Exxie Wilson and Karen Jones 24 June 1980
The two girls were killed on the same night, but at different locations. Wilson’s head was removed, washed, cosmetics added and then frozen before being left on a neighbour’s drive.
Marnette Comer Found 29 June 1980
Comer’s body was found on this night, although she was probably shot several weeks earlier. He body was found in a San Fernando Valley ravine. Comer was a runaway.
A sixth unidentified victim Found 26 August 1980
A probable sixth victim was found near Tuna Canyon. Despite facial reconstructions, this final victim has never been identified.
The couple acted together – Carol Bundy would lure the girls into their car, and then Clark would force the girls to perform oral sex on him, shooting them in the head as they did this. (Exxie Wilson’s head was used by Clark for sex acts after her murder, and Bundy says Clark had vaginal sex with the bodies of his victims after he killed them.
CAPTURE AND TRIAL
Bundy was talking to her former boyfriend John Murray, when he told her he thought Clark was the murderer. Clark and Bundy then murdered Murray and decapitated the body before dumping it – Bundy said she threw the head into a ravine. It was never found.
Bundy then admitted the killings to a friend, who told the police. Clark and Bundy were both arrested.
At the trial, Bundy turned states’ evidence against Clark, who was found guilty on all charges and sentenced to death. Bundy entered insanity pleas at first, but changed them to guilty of murder at the start of the trial. Because of her co-operation, she was sentenced to a 27-year and a second, 25-year sentence, to run consecutively.
