VICTIM 4 – Lynda Gough April 1973
The first known victim killed by both Rose and Fred, 19-year-old Gough visited Cromwell Street regularly to have sex with two of male lodgers. She them moved into Cromwell Street herself.
By April 20th 1973, she had disappeared. The Wests said she had been thrown out for hitting one of their children.
Like the other victims, Gough’s body was not found until 1994. She had been dismembered and showed signs of having been bound, gagged and tortured. She was buried in the garage of Cromwell Street, and her body was missing several vertebrae, the knee caps and several fingers.
VICTIM 5 – Carol Cooper November 10th, 1973
Cooper was in local council care and aged 15 when she disappeared. She was last seen alive by her boyfriend, when she got on a bus to return to her grandmother’s home. The Wests killed her and buried her in the cellar of Cromwell Street.
VICTIM 6 – Lucy Partington December 27th, 1973
Partington was a 21-year-old university student, and the Wests abducted her from a bus-stop on the A435 road. On January 3rd, Fred West went to hospital because of a bad cut on his hand, possibly incurred while he was dismembering Lucy Partington’s body.
She was buried in the Cromwell Street cellar.
VICTIM 7 – Therese Siegenthaler April 16th, 1974
Siegenthaler was also a 21-year-old student, and she was abducted near Gloucester as she was hitch-hiking. She was Swiss, but Fred West thought she was Dutch and called her the “Dutch Girl” in police interviews.
Therese was buried and then Fred West built a false chimney breast over the grave.
VICTIM 8 – Shirley Hubbard November 15th 1974
Shirley was only 15, and was abducted from a bus-stop in Droitwich, Worcestershire. Her remains were discovered in the Cromwell Street cellar.
VICTIM 9 – Juanita Mott April 12th, 1975
Mott was 18 and had lodged at Cromwell Street before moving to live with a friend in Newent (a town a few miles from Gloucester). The Wests seem to have spotted her hitch-hiking on the Gloucester-Newent road and abducted her.
Mott was buried in the cellar, but after this, Fred West concreted over the floor as an extra security measure (the room later became a bedroom for some of the children).
THERE WAS NOW A THREE YEAR GAP IN THE MURDERS
